According to Statista, the most popular new year’s resolution in the UK this 2023 is to do more exercise.
As we approach the end of 2023, many of us still aspire to hop on that fitness journey as a new year’s resolution for next year. However, not all can continue doing it for a long time, or even get started at all. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and be discouraged, but it’s important to know how to overcome this.
There are several resources online that can help you get started on that fitness journey. The UK National Health Services (NHS) has got our backs with their free instructor-led workout videos which you can use to start working out at home.
NHS Instructor-Led Workout Videos
In case you didn’t know, the NHS has a comprehensive list of free health-related resources on their website – and it does not disappoint!
We found their instructor-led workout videos extremely useful and most importantly, free to access for everyone, even to non-UK residents.
They have a total of 23 videos, with each video ranging from 10-45 minutes, and all created by fitness experts from InstructorLive.
The exercises included are also quite comprehensive, covering workouts such as:
- aerobic exercises
- strength and resistance
- pilates and yoga
You’ll find exercises for several different purposes, including toning your abs or upper arms, and raising your heart rate. More specifically, you’ll also find videos for new mums such as postnatal yoga, or health problems, such as Pilates for back pain. Whether you’re into abs workout, or you’re more of a yoga person, there’s a video that can help you.
An easy way to get started on your fitness journey is to check these resources on the NHS website here, and to start at home. Once you get the hang of it, then you’ll be ready to take on a more challenging fitness routine like going for a run outside or going to the gym.
